Our neighbour Granny Beth has the most amazing sweet pea in her garden which I am luckily allowed to snip from on a regular basis. This is one of those gorgeous bunches.

"Summer Sweet Pea" is painted on Daler Rowney 140lb rough watercolour paper with Windsor and Newton professional paints.

The original is now sold, but Giclée prints and cards of this image are available through my shop.

Last summer this beautiful cluster of exotic poppies sprung up at the side of the track leading to the farmyard, and we have no idea where the seeds blew in from!

The original was painted on Handmade Khadi 320gsm cotton rag paper.

It is available as a Limited Edition Giclée print through my shop.

This is the second in a series of three white flower paintings, which were great fun to do. They are very loosely based on real white flowers but then I took an awful lot of artistic licence! Framed, this is 89 x 70cm.

This is one of my few paintings that did not originate from subject matter around the farm. It is based on an image from a magazine, and I just loved the sun or disc like leaves.

Even though we don't get too many hot sunny days here in the Highlands of Scotland, when they come along all the nature that surrounds us seems to revel in it - like us! These birch trees are just down the track from our house and were particularly beautiful on the day I painted them. "Summer Birch Trees" is painted on Daler Rowney 140lb Rough Watercolour paper.

We are surrounded by wild flowers here in my garden and in the Scottish Highlands generally. One of my greatest pleasures is going out for a walk and picking up a big (or tiny!) bouquet and working out how I will paint it as I turn homewards.

As with my other Autumn paintings, these leaves were gathered on a walk around Drumderfit farm - on a very dreich day! But once I got home the colours in the leaves sang out again and this was the happy result.

We were lucky enough to spend a few days in Paris in December (2018) and stayed opposite the Sorbonne in the Left Bank. I was surprised that so many of the local galleries had floral / green / nature themes in their exhibitions, and I think this is a result of that influence, somehow mixed in with the River Seine!

This original watercolour painting "Winter Bouquet" (and Limited Edition Giclée Print) was inspired by some of the branches and leaves I picked on a walk around the farm last December. I remember being in the mood to paint a bouquet and this is what evolved!

Living in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland we're quite spoilt for Winter walks! These birch trees are just down the track from our house and I think they look at their best in the snow. "Birch Trees in Snow" was painted on Daler Rowney 140lb Rough Watercolour paper.

i finished this painting yesterday, October 23rd, so this is just my photo of the original. I will get it professionally photographed in early November and then the original, prints and cards will be available. All of the leaves were gathered on my walk around Drumderfit farm last weekend.
